Noncommunicable diseases kill 41 million people each year and cause 85% of the deaths between 30 and 85 years, as claimed by the World Health Organization. The first cause of death are heart diseases, causing ~32% of those. A whole-foods plant-based diet has been shown to prevent most of these main killers of women and men. Even reversing some of them (as heart diseases, for example). If only higher life expectancy wasn’t enough, plant-based diets have been proven to reduce nutrient deficiencies, help maintain a healthy weight and overall improve quality of life in modern scientific papers.
